DOWNTOWN LUNCHTIME RECITAL SERIES

THE ISTANBUL TRIO

The Istanbul Trio sings and plays the traditional music of Turkey, including music featuring the Turkish tambour, oud, and Istanbul kamancha (lyra).

Ertugrul Erkisi is a renowned singer, composer, instrumentalist and producer of traditional Turkish music. Ertuğrul published the first of his 14 albums in 1994, at the age of 22. He has received several awards including the National Music Award of Turkey, one of the most prestigious music awards in that country. He was selected as the artist of the year by the Writers Union of Turkey for his album “Songs from the Phase".

Aslihan Erkisi is a professional singer, composer and scholar of music education, Aslihan has been directing children’s choirs for the last 20 years in Europe. She plays piano, classical kemenche and the Qanun.

Fatih Bayram is a musician, producer and dubbing director, Fatih has performed with various ensembles in New York and New Jersey since 2006. He has played classical Turkish music, Turkish folk music, and contemporary Turkish music with musicians all around the United States.

Grant funding for the recital series has been provided by the Middlesex County Board of County Commissioners, through a grant award from the Middlesex County Cultural and Arts Trust Fund.
