James Hart Brumm

Pastor

The Rev. Dr. James Hart Brumm is the twenty-third pastor and teacher of First Reformed Church. His day job is at New Brunswick Theological Seminary, where he is Assistant Professor of RCA Studies. He also serves the Reformed Church in America (RCA) as General Editor of The Historical Series of the Reformed Church in America and a General Synod Professor, a teacher of the whole church. The author and editor of many books, essays, and articles on congregational song, church history, and worship, as well as many liturgies and around three hundred hymns, James lives in Highland Park with his wife, Kathleen, and their dog, Pepper. They have a son and two grandsons.

Mariella Klinger Seamon

Operations Manager

Mariella Klinger Seamon is an artist, singer, dancer, feminist, professional actor, director, choreographer, bookworm, and animal lover.  On top of her work with First Reformed Church, she is currently working toward degrees in Graphic Art and Interior Design, and also serves as the Operations Manager for Town Clock Community Development Corporation in New Brunswick. In her (limited!) downtime, you can find her working on new musicals with her playwright/composer husband, or savagely consuming books to fulfill her reading goals for the year. 

Sister Duvon Childs

Sexton

Sister DuVon Childs was born, raised, and received her formal education in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where she graduated from Adult Learning Center & Worldwide Educational Services for data entry. She is the granddaughter of the paternal grandmother who attended Sharon Baptist Church for as long as she can remember. As a child, DuVon served on the junior usher board and junior choir. Continuing to praise as an adult, she sings on the praise team and in the choir. Also, a vice-chair on the trustee board as well as a sexton at Sharon Baptist, where she's been since she was just nine years old. DuVon now has four children, three sons and one daughter, including three grandchildren.

James Williams

Sexton

James Williams is a new part-time custodian here at First Reformed Church. He is also a part-time custodian at Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple here in New Brunswick for the past nine years. James is a retired letter carrier after working thirty-five years in both Plainfield and Middlesex, New Jersey. His hobbies include woodworking, gardening, and fishing. He considers himself a handyman - being able to do a lot of repairs at home, the temple, and the church. James enjoys meeting new people and has made many friends in the post office and temple, and hopefully will at First Reformed Church.
